Frommer's Top Destinations for 2008

I entirely disagree with the choice of Cardiff. I spent 5 days in Cardiff on a work-related trip, and those 5 evenings were 5 of the most boring evenings I've ever had. The entire city closes at 5pm, with the exception of the pubs. Consequently, you see some very scary and intoxicated people walking around after sunset, and the rundown nature of the city adds to the frightening mood. I had originally planned to play hooky on one day, but, when I realized that the only thing that was worth seeing in Cardiff is the Cardiff Castle, I only took the morning off. So, if you insist on visiting Cardiff, arrive at 8am, go to the Cardiff Castle, and leave.
